About
The Mount Yunju–Zhelin Lake scenic area is on the middle Xiu River south-west of Jiujiang, Jiangxi, across Yongxiu, Wuning and Xiushui counties, and was in the sixth batch of national scenic areas in 2005. Mount Yunju in Yongxiu has Zhenru Temple, a Chan (Zen) monastery founded in the Tang; Zhelin Lake is a large reservoir dammed on the Xiu River, full of islands, also called the West Sea of Lushan. The two are some 12 km apart.
Travel tips
Getting there: Jiujiang and Nanchang are the nearest cities; Mount Yunju is in Yongxiu and Zhelin Lake in Wuning and Yongxiu, each about an hour by road from Yongxiu.
Time: half a day to a day for each.
