About
Dapan Mountain (大盘山风景名胜区) is a national park of China (ninth batch, designated by the State Council in 2017), located in Pan'an County, Jinhua, Zhejiang.
The scenic area is in Pan'an County, Jinhua, Zhejiang, and is centred on Mount Dapan, whose highest point, Dapanjian, is about 1,244 m. The upland has forest and mountain meadow and includes a nature reserve.
Pan'an is one of Zhejiang's main producers of Chinese medicinal herbs, and the Dapan area grows several of the 'Eight Zhejiang Herbs' such as figwort, atractylodes, white peony and fritillary bulb.
Travel tips
From Jinhua, Yiwu or Hangzhou drive to Pan'an and then into the hills, roughly two to three hours. Half a day to a day is enough. Spring brings the herb flowers, summer is cool and autumn has the best hillside colour; temperatures vary widely between day and night and roads are slippery after rain.
