About
The Xibaipo–Mount Tiangui scenic area is in Pingshan County, Shijiazhuang, Hebei, at the eastern foot of the Taihang, and was in the fourth batch of national scenic areas in 2002. Xibaipo, by the Gangnan Reservoir in the north of the county, was the seat of the Communist Party’s Central Committee late in the civil war, where the second plenary session of the Seventh Central Committee met; the old headquarters and a memorial hall are there. Mount Tiangui, in the hills of the south-west of the county, is a limestone mountain with Taoist buildings such as Qinglong Temple. The two are some 25 km apart.
Travel tips
Getting there: by long-distance or tourist bus from Shijiazhuang; the two are in different places and are visited separately.
Time: half a day to a day for Xibaipo, a day for Mount Tiangui.
