Niangziguan sits in a Taihang gorge northeast of Pingding County on the Shanxi–Hebei border, a pass of the Great Wall originally called Weize Pass. Tradition says it took its present name, “Lady’s Pass”, from the women’s army of the Tang princess Pingyang stationed here. Below, the Tao River runs fast, and springs in the village form a waterfall.
