Mount Shiren, anciently Yaoshan, lies in western Lushan County, Pingdingshan, Henan, at the eastern end of the Funiu range, 268 km²; the main peak, Jade Emperor Summit, is 2,153 m. It is named for its many stone pillars over 200 m high; several waterfalls drop more than 100 m, and its features are pillars, waterfalls, hot springs and forest.

Hot springs: there are hot springs near the park, good after a climb.

Time: one day covers one or two sights; the main peak needs a full day.

Season: summer is cool and is the escape-the-heat season; autumn has red leaves; winter has snow scenes and icy paths.
