Les sites historiques et culturels majeurs protégés au niveau national constituent le plus haut rang des biens culturels immobiliers en Chine ; ils furent désignés par le Conseil des affaires de l’État en huit séries, de 1961 à 2019 : 5 055 sites en tout. Chaque province a une page avec une carte et une courte description de chaque site.
