About
The Dalian coast runs along Binhai Road on the south side of the city, from Xinghai Bay east past Fujiazhuang and Laohutan to Bangchui Island, with bays, rocky shores and beaches, Xinghai Square and the Laohutan Ocean Park.
Binhai Road runs along the foot of the hills south of the city, with woods on one side and the sea on the other. Together with Lüshunkou the coast forms the Dalian Coast–Lüshunkou national scenic area.
It is part of the Dalian Seashore–Lüshunkou scenic area, in the second batch of national parks of China (national scenic areas) named by the State Council in 1988.
Travel tips
Getting there: take a bus, the metro or a taxi to Xinghai Square or Laohutan; Binhai Road can be done in sections on foot or by bike.
Time: about a day along Binhai Road; another day for Lüshunkou.
Season: summer for swimming and cool air, busiest in July and August; winter is windy and cold.
