The Qionghai Lake–Mount Luoji scenic area is in the Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan, and was in the fourth batch of national scenic areas in 2002. Qionghai Lake, south of Xichang, is a fault-basin lake with wetlands along its shore and Mount Lu opposite; Mount Luoji, south of Xichang, rises to over 4,000 m and keeps cirques, arêtes and dozens of lakes left by Quaternary glaciers. The two are over 40 km apart.
Travel tips
Getting there: Xichang has an airport and a station on the Chengdu–Kunming railway; Qionghai is south of the city, by bus or taxi, and Mount Luoji is reached by road.
Time: a day for Qionghai and Mount Lu, a day for Mount Luoji.
