The Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge, also called Yongji Bridge, crosses the Linxi River in Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County and is the best-known Dong covered timber bridge. Timber beams rest on stone piers, carrying a long gallery crowned by five tower-like pavilions, all joined with mortise and tenon. It was built in the early Republican years with funds from local Dong villages.
