Yangtze Estuary, Shanghai 上海长江入海口
The Yangtze flows into the East China Sea at Shanghai. Its estuary is wide, and silt has built up the islands of Chongming, Changxing and Hengsha and broad tidal flats. The Dongtan wetland at the eastern tip of Chongming is an important stopover for migrating birds, a place to watch birds and the meeting of river and sea.
