About
Jingyue Lake lies in Nanguan District, 12 km from the centre of Changchun, an area of over 80 km² in four parts: the hills north of the lake, the forest to the south, the waters of the lake and the villages to the east. It has China’s largest man-made forest, 8,000 hectares planted more than 50 years ago.
Jingyue Lake is a reservoir built in 1934–1936, with a water area of about 4.3 km²; its name comes from its crescent shape.
Travel tips
Jingyuetan: forest roads circle the lake for walking and cycling; a full circuit takes half a day. The forest around the lake is one of the larger planted forests in China.
Winter: there are snow activities on and around the lake, and the snow scenery is fine, but it is very cold; bring plenty of warm clothing.
