Twin Pagodas of Jiangxin Island, Wenzhou 温州江心屿双塔
Jiangxin Island lies in the Ou River north of old Wenzhou, with an ancient pagoda at each end: the East Pagoda was first built in the Tang, the West Pagoda in the Northern Song. Visible from far along the river, they once marked the channel for ships entering and leaving the Ou. The island also has the Jiangxin Temple and a shrine to Wen Tianxiang; Xie Lingyun and Meng Haoran both wrote poems here.
