Saihanba, Chengde, Hebei 河北承德塞罕坝
Saihanba lies in northern Weichang County, Chengde, on the southern edge of the Inner Mongolian Plateau. In the Qing it was part of the imperial Mulan hunting grounds, but its forests were later cut down and it became barren. From the 1960s on, generations of forestry workers planted trees here, creating a vast man-made forest.
