Xixi Wetland, Hangzhou 杭州西溪湿地
Xixi Wetland, on the western edge of Hangzhou, Zhejiang, is a rare large wetland so close to a city: a maze of waterways among fish ponds, reeds, persimmon groves and old villages, now a national wetland park. Since the Song it has drawn scholars seeking retreat and leisure, and its autumn reed flowers are especially famous.
