Nalati, Xinyuan, Xinjiang 新疆新源那拉提
Nalati lies in the heart of the Tianshan at the eastern end of the Ili Valley in Xinyuan County, Xinjiang: a mountain grassland on the northern slope of the Nalati Range, enclosed by mountains on three sides and crossed by the Kunes River. Its Mongolian name means “the place where the sun is first seen”; meadows alternate with spruce forest, and it is a traditional pasture of the Kazakhs.
