Taklamakan 359th Brigade Cultural Tourist Area, Alar, Xinjiang 新疆阿拉尔塔克拉玛干·三五九旅文化旅游区
The area is in Alar, the city of the First Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, beside the Tarim River on the northern edge of the Taklamakan Desert. It centers on the 359th Brigade garrison-farming museum, which tells of the land reclamation carried out here, and also includes desert and poplar scenery at the Desert Gate and Sleeping Poplar Valley.
