Long Shan (Guanshan), Longxian, Shaanxi 陕西陇县陇山(关山)
Long Shan, also called Longban or Longdi, in the narrow sense is the southern end of the Liupan Mountains; its main ridge, now called Guanshan, lies between Longxian in Shaanxi and Zhangjiachuan and Qingshui in Gansu. It divides the Guanzhong plain from Longyou: anyone going west from Chang’an to Tianshui and the Hexi Corridor had to cross it by long, steep roads. Zhang Heng’s Four Sorrows (“the slopes of Long are long”) and the Northern Dynasties song Longtou mention it, and Gansu’s short name, Long, comes from it. On the Longxian side today are the Guanshan grasslands.
