Dafeng Milu Park lies on the tidal-flat wetlands by the Yellow Sea and belongs to the Jiangsu Dafeng Milu National Nature Reserve, home to one of the largest herds of Père David’s deer in the world. The milu is native to China but died out there in the late Qing; in the 1980s it was brought back from Britain and released here to breed. The reserve is part of the World Natural Heritage Site Migratory Bird Sanctuaries along the Coast of Yellow Sea-Bohai Gulf of China.
