Guoliang Village, Huixian, Henan 河南辉县郭亮村
Guoliang Village sits atop sheer cliffs of the Taihang Mountains northwest of Huixian, within the Wanxianshan scenic area. In the 1970s the villagers carved a road more than a kilometre long through the cliff face, with openings like windows looking down into the gorge. Red rock walls and stone houses surround the village, which is also a place for painting and filming.
