Standing on the Jinglue Terrace by the Xiu River east of Rong County town, the Zhenwu Pavilion is a three-storey wooden tower built in the Ming. Its frame of ironwood uses not a single nail, and four inner columns on the second floor hang clear of the floor, carried by lever action – a rare feat of ancient Chinese timber building.
