Guangji Bridge, Chaozhou, Guangdong 广东潮州广济桥
The Guangji Bridge crosses the Han River east of old Chaozhou. Popularly called the Xiangzi Bridge, it was first built in the Song. Its east and west sections are beam spans on stone piers, while the middle is a pontoon of wooden boats that can be opened and closed, letting large ships through and easing floods. This unusual design makes it one of China's four great ancient bridges.
