Muztagh Ata, Xinjiang 新疆慕士塔格峰
Muztagh Ata rises over 7,500 m in the eastern Pamirs of Xinjiang. Its rounded massif is covered in ice and snow all year, earning it the name “Father of Ice Mountains”. The gentle slopes make it a common choice for climbing a high snow peak. Karakul Lake at its foot mirrors the summit, and the Karakoram Highway runs past the lake.
