Qiao Family Compound, Qixian 山西祁县乔家大院
The Qiao Family Compound, in Qiaojiabao Village, Qixian, belonged to the family of the Shanxi merchant Qiao Zhiyong and was begun under the Qianlong Emperor of the Qing. Its courtyards open one into another, with fine brick and wood carving; it is a typical northern Qing residence and a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
